Windows Toolkit                                                                    Back to Contents

Okay, a Win32 toolbox. I will be updating the toolbox as I'm made aware of new tools. Obviously there are many more tools out there than I've listed below. However, the tools listed below are ones that I use on a regular basis. Tools that I've first hand experience with. Tools that I believe should be in your Win32 Toolbox. Please report any broken links to me. As always, clicking on the links below will open a new browser window and take you to either the homepage for the tool or the maintainer. Happy hammering!

Cerberus WebScan
This is an older security scanner designed to find web server security flaws. Worth a download and review. A bit outdated, but not a bad place to start.

Dsniff
The Win32 port of the 'dsniff' utility. Useful for network sniffing and packet reassembly.

. . . . Network Utilities . . . .

WinPcap
Get the Windows Packet Capture Library here. You need this tool to use nmap and other packet utilities on the Win32 platform. Excellent documentation at the site as well.

nmapNT
The Win32 port of the bonafide network utility, nmap. If you are wanting to map networks on a Win32 platform this is your tool.

NMapWin
NMapWin is a front-end GUI for the Win32 version of nmap. If you would prefer to point and click instead of working from the command prompt you will like this!

NetCat
This is the Win32 port of 'netcat' - the network swiss army knife.

WinDump
The Win32 version of the packet sniffer, tcpdump.

. . . . Intrusion Detection Utilities . . . .

Snort
The Win32 port of the open source network intrusion detection system, Snort.

This is a Windows Installer for Snort. Currently in Beta release.

. . . . Filesystem Drivers . . . .
